No Stress Fragrance Shopping
It is important to shop to live in our world today. It can be easy to find what you need most of the time, but this is not always so. When it is hard to figure out what you need and how to get it it can be very stressful, for instance when you are buying a new perfume. There are so many different brands and smells, even if you know what you want before, you can easily get mixed up. You donat need to stress out though. It can be a fun experience to go fragrance shopping. This will hopefully help you to have a hassle free shopping experience.
It is important to plan ahead. You should look into what you want. Ask other people what they have, what they think would be nice for you and look online at some websites that are for perfumes. You have to know a little bit before you go. The different kinds of perfumes and perhaps some brands will be good to know before you go. This way you can have an idea at least of what you want before you go. Like you want something that smells musky or sweet.
The next step is vital, as it contributes much of the stress the perfume-shopping creates: the actual perfume store environment. People today are so accustomed to a certain kind of shopping experience, usually the “shelves and aisles” model, that they tend to expect that all stores are about the same. The reality, however, is almost the exact opposite.
Instead of walking the aisles and asking an employee if you’re having trouble, there will almost certainly be a clerk, sometimes called a “perfumer” behind a large counter setup with product displays. Often this person will be one of the more experienced employees, often specifically chosen to work exclusively in the fragrance department; they are much more attentive than the average salesman on the floor.
Here is where so many perfume store newcomers get stuck. They see one person behind a huge counter top display case and don’t know what to make of it. Some assume this person is merely a cashier, some assume it’s a security employee. The most common mistake is avoiding this person until you’re ready to make a purchase, in fact, they’ve been assigned there specifically to help you find a perfume that’s right for you. This employee is your number one resource from the moment you enter the building.
You should go and ask them if they think they could find a smell that suits you. Introduce who you are and what you came looking for you. They will probably ask you to try a few different smells. They are trained so they can be used to find what you want. There will be a wide selection, but they will know all of the different smells and be prepared even if you are not.
Once the perfumer has an idea of what you like, he or she will find some sample perfumes, called testers, to let you try them out. In the past, people commonly applied a sample to themselves. These days, they will probably spray a tiny amount of each sample onto a number of small cards, allowing you to smell each one and gauge your reaction. Don’t be alarmed if a bowl of coffee beans appears, itas there for you to cleanse your smelling palate between samples. If you find a fragrance you like, just ask the perfumer and they’ll ring you up.
It can be really hard to find a perfume for you, but with this simple guide, using the clerk and preparing before you go you do not have to have a stressful time. No hassle means you can get on with your life smelling good.
